A Quranic verse contains the command of fasting in Surah Al-Baqarah, verses 183-184. Young Muslim, how we want to start the last 10 days left of Ramadhan? Where at this phase Allah promise that Muslims will free from the hell. These are my suggestion of how we may start the last phase. Maybe at this juncture we can have a conversation among family members or between peers ask about what do we feel about Ramadhan? Did all of us remember Allah more? Or just about good foods only when break our fast? We have to highlight one aspect on Ramadhan that immense pleasure. For me, I take break fast as granted. When cool drink going down my throat. It’s really pleasure. Allah gave two happiness for people that fast. One when we break our fast and another one is when we draw ourselves near to Allah. Besides, let’s talk about our beloved Prophet SAW, the way he fast, he pray, he tadarus so much in Ramadhan and so on.How he act throughout of his life, his akhlak. We have to bring him in our life and what was his nature and of course he remembered Allah all the time. During Ramadhan, the Prophet became more gentle, kind, generous and never complains like us. Something popped on my head, if I got power; I will donate so many foods for the needy people. It is far worse wasted food than overeat. This is the right time for us for asking are there we have neglecting anything important about Ramadhan? Compare previous Ramadhan and now, what are the similarities and what are the differences? Is the any upgrade? Or just the same with “those days”? This focus reflected our community, our brotherhood, the changes that taking place. We as a student that have a lot of works to do or sometimes if we free but our roommate have a lot of assignments to do that night why not we doing isya’ and terawih together. Instead of leaving he/she all alone in the room.
“Fasting is the shield that protect us”
What is means when our Prophet said this? Actually, all of our senses and organs have to work together to make our fasting the best. Through fasting, the human cell also doing ibadah and Islam recognizes the cells make us stronger, physically and spiritually. By fasting also, it keeps our soul pure and only Allah in our heart. We left one day more before we enter the last phase in Ramadhan. We must leave gossiping, negative perception towards others, make a lot of maksiat and also limit the unbeneficial activities and unnecessary things. Young Muslim, you are the model, the icon of other Muslims. Why not we do Ramadhan checklist? Here also I want to stress on the importance of do’a, asked so much from Allah. But don’t only do’a for ourselves, but also for others, for our Prophet, parents, siblings, family, teachers, lecturers, friends or even for all Muslims. Between friends, we can do solat jama’ie together take turn to be Imam and recite beautiful do’a together. I’m sure your Ramadhan will be more interesting even though without family members, but we also have family in the hostel.
“Ya Allah, please keep us on straight path..Ya Allah, please guide us always as we always seeking for your guidance.”
So how about last two days? How all of you celebrate the“Nuzul Al-Quran”? Did you recite Al-Quran numerous of the ayat? Young Muslim, we have to bring Al-Quran to our life. Make it remains living living-thing in each and every house. We hope Ramadhan will bless us and the almighty Allah will accept all of our ibadah. May this Ramadhan will be very meaningful as we do not sure is there anymore Ramadhan for us.
“Ya Allah..Aku rindukan rahmatMu..Di dalam bulan yang satu-satunya Kau sebut dalam Al-Quran. Ramadhan yang turun dalamnya Al-Quran untuk menjadi petunjuk dan pemisah antara haq dan batil serta hujjah kepadaku di akhirat nanti.”
Best Regards,
Zunnur
Also a Young Muslim.
